Maker Mends Ltd provides a hands on Jewellery and Diamond Training Day. Your staff will enjoy an exciting and informative day in a real workshop environment at our state of the art workshop and training offices.
One of our qualified tutors is assigned to the group for the whole day.
The training day starts with assessing and grading diamonds. We discuss the ideal qualities of a diamond. the 4 C's - Colour, Clarity, Cut, Carat. Topics discussed include how a diamond is formed, mined, cut and polished. Info is given on how and why it is cut into a round brilliant cut (the most popular) and the different facet configuration of different cut of stones. Each person studies a particular diamond using tweezers and a 10x loupe to help them understand how a diamond is graded and Diamond Certificates are explained.
After lunch, which is included in the price, the trainees are taken into our workshop to see how repairs are carried out.
Each person will then size a ring and repair a chain. They also observe setting, polishing, engraving and watch repairs in action.
This valuable insight into how jewellery is repaired and made is beneficial to both selling jewellery and also taking in repairs.
Bookings of up to 8 people are now being taken. The cost for this unique day out is £125.00 per person +vat.
Staff who complete this day will receive a Maker Mends Ltd certificate of attendance
